This year’s final will take place on Tuesday 8 December. We’ll be screening the three winning films from this year’s three editions. Be sure to mark this festive evening in your agenda.
A platform for new talent
Rialto stands for innovation, and we want to provide newly discovered talent a chance to present their films. Are you such a talent? Do you make films, music videos, commercials, or anything else? And would you like to see your own film on the big screen? Then submit it for Rialto for Short, a program that gives emerging filmmakers the chance to showcase their work to both the public and film professionals.
How does it work?
- Before the announced deadline of the upcoming edition, you submit your completed film. All films from all genres are welcome;
- A jury of film professionals selects three or four films from all entries, with particular attention to filmmakers who have not previously showcased their work;
- On the evening of the screening, always on a Tuesday evening at 19:30, the audience, the jury, and a special guest will decide who the winner of the evening is.
Your submission must meet the following criteria:
- The film is no longer than 20 minutes;
- If the film is not spoken in Dutch or English, please provide it with Dutch or English subtitles;
- The film was produced between 2024 and 2026;
- Submit the film with a Vimeo or YouTube link;
- You, or another crew member, must be present on the film night to answer questions about the film.
What’s at stake?
The filmmaker who, in the opinion of the jury and the public, has made the best film of the season will win a prize of €2,000, courtesy of the VEVAM Fund.
