Stand by Me - Hot Town, Summer in the City

In late 2025, the life of actor and director Rob Reiner came to a violent end. Once known as Meathead in the series All in the Family, he made many unforgettable films, including This is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally and A Few Good Men. Stand by Me must not be missing from this list; a coming-of-age drama based on a story by author Stephen King, in which four boys lose their innocence. Starring, among others, Will Wheaton and River Phoenix, who also died far too young.

Gordie Lachance recounts how, in 1959, he lived in Oregon as a twelve-year-old boy. One day, he and his friends Chris, Teddy and Vern hear that a young boy is missing and may well be dead. When Vern finds out that his older brother is going to search for the boy with a group of friends, Gordie and his friends decide to do the same. During that search, which can only last two days, it becomes clear that all four of them are carrying a heavy burden.
