Siblings Antonio and Estrella are professional divers who, one day, come across a consignment of cocaine. A stroke of luck, it would seem, but the reality is quite different…
Off the coast of the southern Spanish port city of Huelva, siblings Antonio and Estrella work as professional divers, carrying out heavy labour underwater. Antonio, better known as ‘The Tiger’, is a force to be reckoned with underwater, but as soon as he sets foot back on land, he makes a shambles of his life, which is dominated by financial and health problems. Estrella has to pull out all the stops to keep her brother afloat. When one day they find a consignment of cocaine in the hull of a sunken ship, it seems like a stroke of luck. But it is the start of a great deal of misery, which puts family ties to the test.

Director Alberto Rodríguez, best known for his multi-award-winning crime thriller La isla mínima, weaves raw realism with an intimate family drama in this gripping crime story, carried by the outstanding performances of Antonio de la Torre and Bárbara Lennie. The cinematography, particularly the underwater shots, is nothing short of spectacular.
