An intimate coming-of-age drama about 16-year-old Lucija, a member of a Catholic girls’ choir, and how her burgeoning sexuality causes tension within the choir.
Lucija, a 16-year-old introvert, joins the girls’ choir at her Catholic school, where she befriends the slightly older, self-assured Ana-Maria. The choir goes for intensive rehearsals at a monastery in the countryside – a welcome chance for Lucija to escape her overprotective and strict mother for a while. Restoration work is also being carried out at the monastery, and Lucija finds herself feeling very drawn to one of the builders. These are confusing feelings, which also cause her to begin to doubt her faith. All this puts a strain on her friendship with Ana-Maria and causes tension within the group.
