Blue Sun Palace - Previously Unreleased

Didi (Haipeng Xu) is head over heels in love: she and Cheung (Kang-sheng Lee) have only just met, but are already dreaming of a house by the beach and a dog. After their first night together, they both get back to business as usual: the cheerful Didi opens the massage parlour she runs with her friends.

The four Chinese migrant women hold their traditions in high regard at their workplace, which is also their home: they cook, laugh, work and celebrate together. From the outside, the women appear to lead a carefree life full of joy, but their work takes a heavy toll on them. Indeed, the ‘No sexual services’ sign by the front door seems more like an alibi. Following a devastating tragedy, the masseuses find it even harder to find their way in their daily lives, far from their homeland.
